Today, Fuse announced the promotion of three engineers to align its hardware, software, networking, and system projects and programs for the company’s suite of defense communications, networking and computing products. Promoting Bill Cerny, Joe Daniels and Tim Gilmore is expected to further strengthen the company’s engagement with warfighters and the development of cutting-edge technologies that address key defense capability gaps.
“Bill, Joe and Tim have been instrumental in Fuse’s growth, providing their engineering expertise in service of our drive to provide the world’s best systems in service of the warfighter,” said Sumner Lee, Fuse CEO. “Their considerable and invaluable knowledge, drive and ability will be critical for Fuse as we continue to develop innovative networking and communications products for the defense industry.”
Allen McAfee, the company’s recently appointed director of product engineering, provides direction for the managers:
- Bill Cerny, network engineering manager, leads the network and cyber engineering teams in the development and testing of innovative network routing designs for manned and unmanned platforms. He is promoted from the role of network engineer at Fuse. Previously, Cerny developed air-to-ground networks for Navy patrol and reconnaissance aircraft in both government and contractor roles. He is a former Navy officer and holds a B.A. in Computer Science from the University of Texas.
- Joe Daniels, hardware and systems engineering manager, leads a cross-functional team of mechanical, electrical and systems engineers and designers responsible for developing a suite of hardware and integrated systems. Daniels joined Fuse in 2017 as a systems engineer and is promoted from a principal hardware and systems engineer role. Previously, he worked at Nissan North America, where he led a team of engineering, production and maintenance personnel on the Nissan Leaf global product launch. Daniel holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University.
- Tim Gilmore, software engineering manager, is responsible for leading the Fuse software team in helping to solve some of the most difficult challenges that warfighters face. He joined Fuse in 2020 as a project manager and previously served in design, engineering and program management roles, including being a director of program management at Genasys, Inc. (formerly LRAD). Gilmore holds an M.S. in Engineering Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
