Fuse Donates to STEP

Fuse was proud to welcome Support the Enlisted Project (STEP)’s Tony Teravainen and Tracie Winn, CEO/Co-Founder and Community Engagement Coordinator respectively, to our headquarters yesterday to present our team donation. The team donation was the result of Fuse’s Third Annual Fundraiser, which yielded a new record of support from our team. This year, a total of $1,050 was donated by generous individual Fuse team members, which was then matched by Fuse for a grand total donation to STEP of $2,100! Fuse CEO, Sumner Lee, presented the grand total donation to Tony.

STEP is a nonprofit organization that provides support for junior active-duty enlisted service members, recently discharged enlisted veterans, and their families in Southern California who are facing financial crisis. One of the most valuable aspects of support programs offered by STEP is that their programs help supported families build financial self-sufficiency.

About STEP, Sumner said, “STEP is an excellent program that is helping thousands of enlisted and veteran families. Tony has built a great team at STEP and they are making a significant difference to our veterans.”

Fuse’s annual fundraiser is organized by Ashley Kozak and this year took place between Veteran’s Day and Thanksgiving. Each year, Fuse selects a nonprofit organization that supports local warfighters or veterans. The charitable contributions from our individual team members represent a genuine extension of the Fuse mantra, “Warfighter Focused Engineering and Design.”

Sumner confirmed his pride in getting to witness Fuse’s warfighter focus manifest among Fuse team members voluntarily. “I’m honored to represent the Fuse team who together donated over one thousand dollars for STEP, and proud that Fuse could match the donations of our team.”

Thanks to Tony and Tracie for stopping by. We wish STEP all the best in our mutual goal of supporting warfighters, and encourage anyone interested in supporting a good cause to consider donating or volunteering.

Fuse Returns to Navy FST

(April 12, 2019) — Fuse’s blazing orange booth and representatives from our team traveled across the country to Lowell, Massachusetts, this week to participate in the 2019 Navy Forum for SBIR/STTR Transition (FST). This year, the Navy FST was located at the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell, a leading research institute in the New England region helping to mobilize government, industry, and academic innovators. The forum took place Wednesday and Thursday, April 10th and 11th, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with tours of UMass Lowell’s research facilities on Tuesday and Friday.

This year Fuse’s orange booth was number 103. Our team participated in a Tech Talk in the Tsongas Center’s Club Room North on Wednesday, during which we presented our topic addressing the room’s cluster subject, “Mission Execution/Risk Analysis Software Tools.” Specifically, we presented and discussed our tactical data link troubleshooting software, T3, and its transition and application to the US Navy Command and Control Program Office (PMW 150).

Fuse’s orange booth and representatives are now headed back to San Diego, where the rest of our team has been working diligently to continue building and improving our hardware and software solutions for the warfighter.
